Legendary CS club Astralis is facing serious trouble, according to a report from journalist Richard Lewis. Once known as the most dominant force in Counter-Strike history, the organization might now be sold to a Middle Eastern investment fund.
Anonymous sources within the team revealed that Astralis management recently asked its players to agree to salary cuts. Unsurprisingly, that didn’t go over well with the roster. On top of that, Astralis has only signed HooXi on a short-term deal and even asked HEROIC to delay payments for the Jabbi and stavn transfers — all signs of financial stress.
There’s even talk that the club might sell off its players one by one, rather than as a full lineup. Astralis already slashed its content and marketing departments in 2024 and dropped its academy team to save money.
It’s a shocking fall for a club that once won four Majors and was seen as a game-changer in esports. But with poor management decisions stacking up, Astralis might soon become just a memory.
