Despite our love for esports, there are times when it highlights the depths of human stupidity. 9Pandas player Krad found himself banned for displaying a racist slur spelled out with stickers on his Counter-Strike 2 skin. The particularly infamous Desert Eagle was spotted during an official ESL Challenger League tournament broadcast.
Initially, Krad was handed a two-week suspension and disqualification. The situation might have faded into obscurity if not for what came next. Both Krad and 9Pandas tried to claim that he had recently purchased the skin (which is true) and that he didn’t notice the offensive word because it was reversed, as Krad plays with his weapon displayed in his left hand. While it’s obvious this argument is dishonest, it’s somewhat understandable—it’s a way to attempt to minimize the punishment.
The twist came when sharp-eyed viewers dug into Krad’s stream archives and found clips of him discussing the “joke” behind the stickers, proving he was fully aware of their content. The incriminating clips were never deleted. Krad later shared that his suspension had been extended to a month, but honestly, it would be reasonable to expect his contract to be terminated. This incident could even mark the end of his career.
At 26 years old, Krad is well past the age where he can avoid accountability for his actions and outright foolishness.
