When it comes to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, there's a general consensus that s1mple is the best player of the decade. However, with the transition to CS2, the legendary sniper has largely disappeared from the competitive scene and is currently in a "contract jail." A three-month loan to Team Falcons became a lifeline, and the entire CS2 community eagerly awaited his first competitive match in quite some time.

At the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, Team Falcons first faced 3DMAX and then Virtus.pro. Since the tournament's group stage follows a GSL format, two losses automatically mean elimination. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened to Team Falcons. S1mple was unable to win a single map out of four, and by the end of the first day of the tournament, his team was sent home.

But how did s1mple perform in these two matches? The Ukrainian was Team Falcons' best player, and despite a complete failure on Anubis against 3DMAX, overall, the legendary player displayed a fairly high level of play. The problem was that the team provided little support, and s1mple alone wasn't enough to secure victory.

Against Virtus.pro, s1mple achieved a 1.24 rating, and against 3DMAX, a rating of 1.12. All signs suggest that s1mple is preparing to once again become a formidable force, but as long as he remains in contract jail, much will depend on the team's overall performance.
