Valve has added new lines of code to the files of Counter-Strike 2, which mention a system for tracking players who use the Snap Tap function. This information was shared by data miner GabeFollower on social media.

GabeFollower, who is known for his studies of Valve games, speculated that Valve might be just collecting data at this stage. It's possible that in the future, they may penalize users who abuse the technology to simplify the gameplay.

Snap Tap is a feature introduced by Razer. It enhances the keyboard input method in games, allowing a character to stop instantly during a strafe without pressing extra keys. Snap Tap is controversial in the community as many people think it brings competitive advantage. At the same time, more than a quarter of participants in the latest BLAST Premier tournament already used Snap Tap. Right now it is in the gray zone.

Previously, GabeFollower found hints about the preparation of the first operation for CS 2. A line related to possible missions appeared in the game files. Valve has not yet revealed any plans for releasing new content.
