BLAST Bounty Spring stands out for several reasons. First, the tournament has a unique gimmick where lower-seeded teams get to pick their opponents from among the established top teams. Second, it's the first tournament to bring back the map Train to the pool. Finally, it's the first chance to see the updated rosters in action after the chaotic reshuffle period.

The surprises started right in the first round. MOUZ, which retained its roster intact, lost in the opening match to BB Team, now featuring Boombl4 and Ax1le. Spoiler alert: BB Team earned a spot in Copenhagen, so this victory cannot be dismissed as a mere fluke.

A more intriguing situation unfolded in the second round. FaZe Clan, who lost ropz during this transfer window, suffered a decisive defeat to PaiN Gaming. The club now faces the need for a major roster overhaul, as ropz and EliGE are fundamentally different types of players.

But FaZe Clan wasn’t the only favorite to miss out on the trip to Denmark's capital. Team Falcons, featuring NiKo, were defeated by Eternal Fire, while Team Liquid fell to the revamped HEROIC roster.

The eight best teams now have a three-day break before resuming their fight for the title of champion at the first major tournament of 2025, starting this Thursday.
