Valve works hard to keep any secrets regarding money, especially when it comes to revenue from in-game items. In Counter-Strike, the most coveted item for any player is the Major Participant Sticker. And now, one professional player has revealed how much he made from them.
We’re talking about roeJ, a player from Copenhagen Flames and Fnatic, who participated in four Valve tournaments. In the Bootcamp podcast, he shared that he earned between $600,000 and $900,000 just from stickers. The amount is huge, and it’s largely due to the fact that in both organizations, the player received a relatively large percentage of the sales (the percentage can vary across different teams).
Interestingly, over the course of his career, the Danish rifler earned just over $300,000. So, it’s clear how important it is for a player to participate in a major, especially if they’re not in a Tier-1 team. By qualifying for a Valve tournament, a player not only immortalizes themselves in the game, but also significantly boosts their bank account.
