The hectic life of a productive tournament organizer never slows down. No sooner had BLAST Open Spring 2025 wrapped up than preparations for Rivals Spring 2025 were in full swing. The event was originally set to take place in Monterrey, Mexico, between late April and early May. However, due to "unforeseen logistical challenges," the matches will now be played at BLAST’s studio in Denmark.

Given that BLAST has successfully hosted tournaments all over the world, there's speculation (though no official confirmation or denial) that teams may have influenced this decision. In theory, some top-tier teams will be competing in IEM Melbourne, followed by a trip to Mexico, and then some of them might head straight to Kazakhstan. Even if a team decides to skip the PGL tournament in Astana, they would still need to practice in Europe ahead of the Austin Major.
Traveling the Australia–Mexico–Europe route within a short time frame is, to put it mildly, brutal for players. It wouldn’t be surprising if some teams refused to go to Mexico but were open to playing in Denmark instead.
It’s a disappointing day for CS2 fans in Mexico and Central/South America, but at the end of the day—business is business.
