While many Counter-Strike fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the Perfect World Shanghai Major, another major esports event is currently drawing hundreds of thousands of viewers: the M6 World Championship for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Mobile esports are immensely popular in certain regions, but the Wildcard format of this tournament has raised some concerns. Out of the eight teams competing in this stage, only one could advance to the next phase, the Swiss Stage. To do so, they had to win their group and then defeat the winner of the other group.

In theory, this round-robin format could lead to frustratingly long tiebreakers if teams are evenly matched. Fortunately, one team stood out significantly above the rest. The Turkish squad ULFHEDNAR dominated, winning all their matches and dropping only a single game in total.

Formerly known as Fire Flux Esports, ULFHEDNAR will now face BloodThirstyKings in the next phase. The Swiss Stage will closely resemble formats seen in other tournaments, potentially leading to some surprises. Matches for this stage are set to begin on November 28.

The M6 World Championship is taking place in Malaysia and boasts a prize pool of $1 million.
