The Esports World Cup Foundation kicked off a new project called “Music of EWC”. The goal is to make the upcoming EWC appealing in every aspect, including audio. The event is a massive seven-week tournament featuring multiple esports titles and a full-on festival vibe.
The music project started on Sunday with help from Abbey Road Studios, where four epic tracks were recorded. These were composed by 2WEI and Hollywood Scoring. Esports fans might know 2WEI very well — they’ve made music for several cinematic LoL trailers.
But that’s not all. Through a partnership with Audiotool, a cloud-based music-making platform, creators around the world can enter a contest to have their songs featured in the tournament. Two winners will be chosen by three respected people of the industree and join the official EWC music collection.
These songs will be used during match broadcasts, on-site shows, and across social media. There’s no cash prize, but winners will get 25 custom vinyl records of their track — pretty cool for music lovers.
This all comes after the EWC Foundation announced a massive $70 million prize pool for this year’s tournament.
