We’ve got our first confirmed teams for the Austin Major, and they’re big names: OG and Heroic both crushed the MRQ qualifiers with clean 3–0 records. For Heroic, this is a major win — especially after selling their old roster to Team Falcons. They built a brand new squad and still made it to the biggest CS2 event of the summer.

One of Heroic players, Tn1r, also made history — he’ll be the first Belarusian to ever play at a CS2 Major. Back in 2020, Nemiga qualified for the Rio Major with three Belarusians, but the event was canceled due to COVID. Funny enough, Heroic beat Nemiga to secure their spot this time. That said, Nemiga still has a chance to make it through the remaining qualifier matches.

On the flip side, we already know two teams that won’t be going to Austin. Team 500 was the first to get knocked out, winning only 13 rounds across three matches. The team had previously faced accusations of cheating, and this exit doesn’t help their rep. PARIVISION also failed to qualify, meaning Rio Major champ Jame won’t be appearing — or getting any new in-game stickers — this time around.
