On the first day of the Six Invitational 2025 playoffs, a major controversy erupted at the venue. The team manager and coach of M80 were ejected from the tournament and will no longer be able to support the team during their lower bracket run. What exactly happened? Let’s break it down.

In the Round 1 of the world championship, M80 played against DarkZero Esports. The teams traded maps, leading to a decisive match on Bank. Throughout the game, the referees repeatedly warned M80’s coach, Budega, about communicating with the team outside of designated timeouts. However, Budega ignored the warnings, prompting the officials to award DarkZero a technical round win.

DarkZero ultimately won the match, and after the post-game handshakes, Budega confronted DarkZero’s players in an aggressive manner. While the situation didn’t escalate into a physical altercation, referees and staff had to step in to separate the parties.

As a result, the SI 2025 organizers banned Budega. This means M80 will have to continue in the lower bracket without their support staff. Since only six out of the 20 participating teams will finish in the prize money, this penalty could be a major setback. M80’s first lower bracket match will be against CAG Osaka.
