Virtus.pro has announced the launch of a new division for Marvel Rivals. The Bears has signed the roster that previously competed under the TeamCats tag. This team secured first place at the Marvel Rivals Championship Season 0: Doom’s Rise for Europe. However, there has been one roster change—DogeBiceps has left the team, and his spot has been taken by Finnsi from NICELAND.

The roster is a top-tier lineup, and Virtus.pro has taken a typical big-club risk—signing a strong squad early before its value skyrockets. However, if the Marvel Rivals esports scene fails to develop, this could result in financial losses. Right now, much of the current esports ecosystem revolves around the Esports World Cup. Marvel Rivals is not yet on the event’s list of disciplines (while Overwatch 2 is).

This means that either Virtus.pro has insider knowledge about the game’s esports future, or they are making a bold bet. Whether this decision pays off will only become clear over time—at least six months down the road.
