Marvel Rivals has become embroiled in a dispute after receiving over 500 mods in a single month. Users' emotions were triggered when the Nexus Mods website removed modifications that replaced Captain America's head with pictures of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

The owner of Nexus Mods under the nickname TheDarkOne explained the decision in a private discussion on Reddit. He emphasized that both mods - with Trump and Biden - were removed at the same time to avoid accusations of bias.

“We removed the Biden mod on the same day as the Trump mod to avoid bias. But for some reason YouTube bloggers are silent about it.”

But the story didn't end there. The owner of the resource said that after the removal of the mods he began to receive threats. 

“Today we write death threats, call us pedophiles and all sorts of insults just because someone decided to stir up this topic,” added TheDarkOne.

This isn't the first time the removal of mods on Nexus Mods has caused controversy. For example, in 2022, the platform removed a mod for Spider-Man Remastered that replaced rainbow flags with American flags. At the time, the site's owners openly stated that they were in favor of inclusivity and would remove content against diversity.

“We're not going to waste our time on people who think this is cause for uproar,” the owner of Nexus Mods concluded.
