Respawn shed light on some of the details for the 25th season of Apex Legends, titled “Prodigy.” The update goes live on May 6 and includes big changes to gameplay, weapons, and ranked mode.
The highlight is Sparrow, a new Recon legend whose abilities were shown off in a recent gameplay trailer. Also making a return is the Bocek Bow, now upgraded to let players charge it with grenades for more powerful shots.
Another big change is the return of the limited-time Arenas mode — a fan-favorite 3v3 combat experience. Pathfinder is also getting some buffs this season, though exact balance details haven’t been shared yet.
Ranked matchmaking is getting some changes too: your rank and division will initially be seeded depending on your hidden skill level from past seasons. And players who missed a full season won’t have their rank reset if they were in Bronze. In theory, this should improve the quality of matches. More info is available on the official Apex Legends website, and all that's left is basically a post with a complete change log.
