The creators of Atomfall have released an extended gameplay trailer, offering a deep dive into the game's world and core features. The video highlights the unique retro-futuristic setting—a quarantine zone in northern England following a 1962 nuclear power plant disaster.

Players will navigate this hazardous area while uncovering secrets through investigation and dialogue with colorful NPCs. The protagonist, designed for player immersion, has no predefined identity, allowing for personalized interactions. Unlike traditional quest-driven systems, Atomfall encourages exploration and discovery, creating a more authentic experience.

Traders play a crucial role in survival, offering barter-based exchanges of essential resources since money holds no value in the quarantine zone. To survive, players must gather resources carefully, as dangers lurk everywhere—gangs, cultists, mutants, and deadly machinery populate the world. Inventory management is key, as limited space forces difficult decisions about equipment. Traps and mines further complicate navigation.

Visually, Atomfall echoes previous works by Rebellion, featuring atmospheric but not groundbreaking graphics. The open-world depiction of post-disaster England feels grim and intricately detailed. Limited inventory adds complexity, requiring strategic choices about which items to carry. Gear upgrades are also available, particularly beneficial for melee weapons, which are often necessary against sect members, bandits, and mutants.

Atomfall launches on March 27th for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with Day One availability via Game Pass.
