Larian Studios has officially announced that Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on April 15. To celebrate the release, the developers will host a livestream the following day, April 16, where they’ll go into greater detail about the update. The stream is expected to highlight all the key additions, including the anticipated new subclasses.

Players were able to preview some elements of Patch 8 earlier this year during a stress test that began in late January. Since then, Larian has rolled out several test patches, addressing various bugs and even introducing experimental features. These updates have helped fine-tune the release version of Patch 8 ahead of its full rollout.

Although a complete changelog hasn’t yet been shared, it’s expected to drop either on launch day or slightly earlier. Based on earlier developer insights, fans can expect a fully featured photo mode, new character subclasses, crossplay support across platforms, and likely some unannounced improvements to gameplay and stability.

Released in August 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 has continued to receive substantial post-launch content. Earlier patches have brought new endings and refinements to the narrative and mechanics. Patch 8 seems poised to expand the experience even further and bring players back to the Forgotten Realms with fresh tools and options.
