One of the biggest failures in video game history might be getting a soft reboot and a major update. A version of Warcraft III: Reforged labeled 2.0 has appeared on Blizzard’s internal test server, according to a hint discovered by Reddit users.

It’s reported that Blizzard updated the test server for the first time since 2022. As of the publication of this information, the game is currently in build 1.36.2. The details of the potential update are unknown, and the developers have not made any comments regarding the rumors of the patch’s release.

It’s important to note that the mere appearance of the game on internal servers doesn’t guarantee anything. Internal testing, for instance, is the most critical stage at Valve, after which a project can still be canceled. However, the news that work is being done on Reforged might bring some hope to fans.

In January 2023, the game's developers sought gamers' opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of Warcraft III: Reforged. One page of the survey was dedicated to the idea of a "soft reboot" of the title.

The original Warcraft III was released in 2003, while the remake, titled Reforged, came out in 2020. The updated version of the strategy game was demolished by gamers, holding a score of 0.6 out of 10 on Metacritic.
