The Opening Night Live show at Gamescom 2024 began with a major announcement of the next installment in the Borderlands series. Borderlands 4 is planned for release in 2025, but for now, we’ve only been treated to a trailer. There is no information about pre-orders or system requirements for the game. However, the Steam page is already live, so you can wishlist it.

Interestingly, the timing for the marketing campaign was planned quite well. In theory, the Borderlands movie was supposed to generate buzz, and the announcement of the fourth game just weeks later could have amplified the hype. Unfortunately, the movie turned out to be a colossal failure, so much so that it will start appearing on digital platforms less than a month after its theatrical release.

Regardless, the movie’s failure shouldn’t affect the quality of the game, so we’re eagerly awaiting more news on Borderlands 4.
