Some participants in the closed alpha testing of Valve's team-based PvP shooter Deadlock have started using cheats. This was reported by players from the community, including the author of the YouTube channel Deadlock And Me.

The cheating software for Deadlock allows for fast movement across the map and getting under textures to attack opponents from there. The YouTuber published a video recorded in replay mode, showing what gameplay looks like from the perspective of a cheater.

The blogger mentioned that the cheating software was used by a player known in the community for cheating. Valve blocked all accounts associated with him. The company did this only a few days after the player started using cheats, the blogger noted.

Valve has not yet officially announced Deadlock nor confirmed the existence of the shooter. As of July 2024, the game is in a closed alpha testing phase, which has been accessed by several thousand people. The maximum online for the Deadlock alpha in a day was over 2300 people.
