We have the good news and the bad news. The good news is that Valve has released an update for Deadlock. The bad news is that this update will be the last one in 2024.

The update itself isn't focused on balance changes but aims to thank players and bring some Christmas cheer. The main menu and several in-game locations have received winter-themed decorations.

The most interesting part of the update is that, aside from the noticeable visual changes, Valve has introduced hidden quests that will reward players with special Christmas skins for heroes. Each hero has different requirements for these quests. It could be a specific kill streak or something else — the community is currently working on figuring out the exact conditions. Upon completing a quest, players will receive an in-game message saying they've "achieved holiday cheer."

It is also known that these skins aren't limited to just one game but will remain further. However, it's unclear whether these skins will be available after the event ends, and what will happen with heroes that are still being developed, as Deadlock is still a relatively unfinished game. Nonetheless, this is a very pleasant and unexpected surprise from Valve.
