Wolcen Studio unveiled Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that features elements of extraction shooter mechanics. On January 25, the first closed alpha testing will start for players in Europe. On February 1, players from North America will join them.
"We've blended the tension and risk reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games," said game director Andrei Cirkulete. Diablo and Escape from Tarkov seem to have a parenthood. We are eager to hear from the players. In an attempt to bring order back to a destroyed world, players will take on the role of a messenger of Death.
They will battle AI opponents and other players while exploring maps. Trophies will be saved if the evacuation is successful, and all loot will be lost if the evacuation is unsuccessful.
The game will allow you to create your own base, personalize your equipment, and try out different game styles. World mythologies serve as the inspiration for the setting, and player trade forms the foundation of the project's economy.
Players will first embark on adventures in the setting of "Destiny's Edge," which is reminiscent of Scandinavian legends. Despite the game's early alpha status, the developers intend to actively engage the community in order to enhance the project.
