In 2020-s it is impossible to surprise anyone with the revival of the great past franchises. Publishers are looking to monetize every tiny bit of nostalgia. However, more often than not, this idea fails. Now we have another such example and it's hard not to feel sceptical.
Double Dragon Revive is published by Arc System Works and developed by Yuke's, the studio known for creating several instalments of the WWE 2K series in the 2010s. However, the latest game of this studio, AEW Fight Forever, is simply bad and that doesn't build any trust.
The formal announcement of Double Dragon Revive took place yesterday, and later, the developers revealed the game's debut trailer. The developers promise modern 3D graphics, accessibility for newcomers to the genre, and diverse combat that will require analyzing opponents.
The trailer doesn't bring much information except for the expected release date. Double Dragon Revive is planned for release somewhere in the next year on PC and both current and past generations of consoles.
