Funcom has made an important announcement regarding the project's schedule changes. The initially announced April 25 release has been postponed: the PC version will now launch on June 10, while extended access participants will be able to start playing as early as June 5.

The primary reason for the delay stems from the developers' desire to thoroughly analyze feedback from closed beta test participants and ensure the highest quality launch. An official letter emphasizes that large-scale testing is currently underway, involving hundreds of gaming journalists and popular content creators whose first impressions of the game will become publicly available on April 25.

The studio highlighted its active efforts to maintain interest in the project in recent months: a character creation toolkit was introduced, a performance testing benchmark was released, pre-orders were opened, and a series of new trailers were published. However, the decisive factor in the postponement decision proved to be extensive feedback from the gaming community through Discord channels, where developers maintain direct dialogue with fans.

Dune: Awakening is positioned as an ambitious project combining the vast expanses of an open world, survival genre elements, and classic MMO mechanics. The development team aims to perfect the game, and the additional time, according to Funcom, will allow optimizing the launch experience and providing players with a truly impressive first encounter with the game world.
