In a sudden and unexpected move, Evil Dead: The Game has vanished from both the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store, leading to renewed speculation about its future. While the game remains available on Steam and Xbox, many players are worried it could soon be delisted entirely and have its servers shut down.

The warning signs have been mounting for a while. The game’s social media accounts have been silent since last year, and back in March, the developers implemented permanent double XP and Spirit Points — often a red flag in the live service world. At the time, they vaguely promised that servers wouldn't go offline “in the near future,” which many fans found unconvincing.

Comments from concerned players suggest this may be a quiet preparation for pulling the plug. With player numbers dwindling and online activity practically non-existent, it seems Saber Interactive may be preparing to sunset the game. Some believe server resources are being reallocated to the studio’s upcoming title RoadCraft, set to launch on May 20.

It’s also worth noting that no new content has been released for Evil Dead: The Game since 2023, suggesting the project has been in limbo for quite some time.
