Capcom recently hosted a presentation to unveil the details of the inaugural content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. The announcement was made by none other than the game’s producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, who confirmed that the patch will roll out on April 4.
The star of this update is Mizutsune, a towering Leviathan-class creature known for its slippery scales and devastating tail attacks. Hunts for this formidable monster unlock in the Aloe Forest once players reach Hunter Rank 21. For those who advance to Rank 50, an even greater challenge awaits: Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. This event quest rewards hunters with exclusive gear sets, making it a must-play for endgame enthusiasts. Additionally, Zo Shiah makes a triumphant return in a dedicated mission, also available at Rank 50. Once defeated, this fearsome creature will sporadically appear during Vivern awakenings in the Ruins of Viveria, offering players the chance to gather rare crafting materials for unique armor and weapons.
To keep the gameplay fresh, Capcom has introduced new time-limited trials and arena quests. These missions can be tackled solo or with friends via cross-platform co-op, ensuring flexibility for all playstyles. Another notable addition is the sprawling hub area, unlocked at Rank 16. This bustling location serves as a social hub where hunters can relax, engage in side activities, and enjoy mini-games between hunts.
Each season in the hub will feature a unique festival, starting with the "Blooming Dance Festival." Scheduled to run from April 22 to May 6, this vibrant event will offer limited-time rewards such as themed gear, gestures, and camp decorations. Players will want to dive in during this period to secure these exclusive items before they disappear.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with full Russian localization. A smaller patch is expected in May, featuring a crossover with one of Capcom’s iconic franchises. Meanwhile, the second major update is slated for summer, promising even more content for eager hunters.
