The developers at Respawn Entertainment have released a video about upcoming updates for Apex Legends. The focus of the video was on the player matchmaking system and measures against those who don't play fair (not just against cheaters). Significant changes are coming to both of these aspects, and the studio shared some of the details.

For example, in matchmaking, players can expect the display of skill levels in non-ranked matches, and adjustments to queue wait times. Respawn is also discussing pressing issues like score calculation and restrictions on pre-formed squads in ranked matches.

In the realm of anti-cheat, the developers are tackling team collusion. There has already been a decrease in these incidents, thanks to certain algorithms. Additionally, they are working on a notification system for penalties applied to players who have been reported. There's also an ongoing fight against bots. A machine learning model is being developed to not only detect bots in matches but also to combat their further development.

The developers of Apex Legends have promised to stay in touch with the community. The goal is for the shooter to remain a fun and competitive game without compromising its integrity, and that’s what Respawn Entertainment is striving for.
