The new Witcher game is in full development. We don't know the exact title (its current codename is Polaris), and of course fans care about Geralt from Rivia, although we don't know how much screen time will he get. Polaris is intended to mark the start of a new chapter for the series.

Doug Cockle, the actor behind Geralt's English voice in The Witcher series, has shared some insights about the forthcoming game. He revealed that Geralt will appear in the new game but only as a supporting character. However, when it comes to the plot, Cockle admits he’s in the dark — he hasn’t seen the script, and even if he had, he wouldn't be able to disclose details due to non-disclosure agreements.

Who will take the lead in the new game remains uncertain. The most likely candidate is Ciri, but for that to happen, certain endings from The Witcher 3 would need to be made canon. Another option could involve a new Witcher or even a player-created character.

Polaris is expected to be a vast open-world RPG built on Unreal Engine 5. The game is currently a major focus for CDPR, with nearly 65% of the studio's team dedicated to its development. Analysts anticipate a release in 2026 or possibly 2027.
