The developers of Helldivers 2 have introduced a major update called Escalation of Freedom, released six months after the original game's launch. For players on Sony PlayStation, the update requires a download of just over 1.8 GB.

What have the developers prepared for us? Firstly, there's the tenth difficulty level, Super Helldive. The developers describe this difficulty as extreme, obviously suited only for game masters who know Helldivers 2 inside out. Along with the new difficulty, enemy outposts will also increase in size, promising better rewards for those who successfully tackle this challenge.

Additionally, there are two new faction-specific mission objectives, ready to offer a couple of interesting adventures. Among the new enemies, developers have introduced new bots and bugs, including the Impaler, Rocket Tank, and Spore Charger.

The game now features a new swampy planet and acid rains that players should beware of. Of course, there's also a recalibration of various weapons and numerous QoL improvements. The list of fixed bugs is also impressive.
