The Cyberpunk 2077 community is buzzing with discussions again, but this time for an unexpected reason. Instead of the usual announcements about updates or DLCs, the developers have initiated strange activity on the project's official social media accounts. The studio has started posting character birthday calendars, organizing fan art contests, and calling on the community to participate in virtual events. However, attentive fans quickly noticed something highly suspicious.
In recent posts, peculiar anomalies have begun appearingāempty cells with digital artifacts, hidden symbols in the NetWatch style, and mysterious emojis. This immediately sparked a wave of speculation: some in the community anticipate a surprise DLC announcement, others predict a major 2.2 update, while the boldest fans believe in an imminent full-fledged sequel announcement. No official comments from the studio have been made yet.
This doesn't seem related to the officially confirmed Switch 2 port. It's also worth noting that the recent updates were handled by the external studio Virtuosāperhaps they are currently working on new content. Nor should we dismiss the previously announced anime project by CDPR and Netflix, about which there has been no news since last year.
Although Cyberpunk 2077 will celebrate its 5th anniversary in December, the campaign launched by the studio began far too early for a typical anniversary event. One thing is clear: CD Projekt Red is definitely preparing something bigger than just celebratory activities.
