The new zombie action game, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, has launched in early access on Steam, developed by PikPok. Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Walton, Texas, players must navigate a zombie apocalypse, gathering resources, crafting weapons, and moving between shelters to survive.
With a 2D camera perspective, the game emphasizes stealth and group management, offering players the challenge of surviving in a world overrun by the undead. Players will need to carefully manage their group and resources, while improving their arsenal as they progress through the story.
Although the game has already received praise for its atmosphere and mechanics, some players have noted technical issues. These are expected to be addressed as the game progresses through early access. At the time of writing, the peak online player count reached just over 5,000, a solid result for an indie project. The developers promise regular content updates, with the first one scheduled for May.
