The highly anticipated life simulation game inZOI, often dubbed "The Sims 4 Killer," has faced significant challenges in retaining its player base since launch. While the game initially attracted over 87,000 concurrent players during its peak, its current player count has plummeted to just 7,000–8,000 active users. This sharp decline has been attributed to the game's limited content and repetitive gameplay, which caused many players to leave shortly after their initial exploration.
Despite these setbacks, some members of the gaming community remain optimistic about inZOI 's potential. One user, known as Doogerie, took to social media to voice their support for the game, drawing parallels between inZOI and The Sims 4 at launch. According to Doogerie, even in its current state, inZOI surpasses The Sims 4 in terms of quality when compared to the latter's early days:
"Just think back to what The Sims 4 was like at release: no pools, terrible lighting, and overall a pretty underwhelming experience. Now we have inZOI — sure, it’s not perfect, but even now, I think it’s better than The Sims 4 was at launch. I’d love to see nightclubs, bars, and a proper university system with dorms and everything else that comes with it."
Doogerie’s comments highlight the sentiment of a small but passionate group of players who believe that inZOI still has untapped potential. They argue that the game’s foundation is strong enough to build upon, provided the developers continue to add meaningful updates and address player feedback.
