InZOI’s Game Director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, has shared details about the unusual and paranormal elements that will be included in the game.

According to Game Director Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, players will even be able to control ghosts, albeit in a limited capacity — ensuring that this feature doesn’t overshadow the core gameplay. This mechanic is tied to a karma system, which tracks the actions of characters and influences their future lives in specific ways. As it turns out, this influence extends even after death.

Specifically, the karma system and a character’s deeds will determine their fate after passing away: they may either peacefully move on to the afterlife or become a ghost doomed to linger among the living. To finally leave the mortal world, a ghost must earn the missing karma points.

In the early access version of InZOI, ghosts will already be available, but players won’t be able to control them—this feature will be added later. The developer emphasized that InZOI is, first and foremost, a game about real life, so paranormal elements will be kept to a minimum. However, the developer hinted that other unexplained phenomena might be introduced to InZOI in the future.
