Josef Fares, head of Hazelight Studios, shared key details about the upcoming Split Fiction during a recent interview. Confirming earlier statements, Fares emphasized that Hazelight remains committed to avoiding live-service models and microtransactions. The studio also has no intention of going public or selling out to a larger corporation:
"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
Speaking with MinnMax, Fares disclosed that the core narrative of Split Fiction spans around 12-14 hours, aligning closely with the runtime of It Takes Two Including optional missions and additional content, players can expect gameplay extending up to 16-17 hours.
Although Hazelight primarily specializes in co-op titles, Fares acknowledged the possibility of exploring single-player games in the future. He noted that Split Fiction 's budget surpasses It Takes Two 's by double, yet the studio opts against post-launch DLC, ensuring all features are unlocked from day one. Split Fiction launches globally on March 6th across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
