The developers of Life is Strange: Double Exposure have shared important details before the launch, with the most noteworthy being the system requirements for the interactive adventure.
As for the release, Life is Strange: Double Exposure is set to launch on all popular gaming platforms on October 29. Players will have access to chapters one through five, meaning the full game will be available. However, those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will receive early access.
Early access will begin on October 15 across all platforms. The only limitation will be the chapters available — during the early access period, players will be able to complete only two chapters, while the remaining chapters will unlock on the full release date.
On October 29, players on Steam will download a patch containing the remaining episodes, while console players will have a separate application. Saved data will transfer seamlessly.
The developers explained the purpose of the early access period: during this time, players are encouraged to formulate theories about what will happen next — this aspect was well-received by the community in previous episodic games.
Additionally, the developers revealed accessibility features that will be included in Life is Strange: Double Exposure. These features include assistance with aiming, extended action time, control modifications, specific content warnings, and more. However, there will not be special options for colorblind players, although the game was originally designed with color blindness in mind.
