Recently, we wrote about how Marvel Rivals had a bug that put low-end PC owners with low FPS at a disadvantage. That frame rate bug was addressed fairly quickly, but it was still a surprising issue. Now, however, players have discovered a bug that punishes… those with high FPS!

It seems counterintuitive, as any esports player aims to maximize their frames per second to ensure smooth gameplay with no lag. However, in the case of Marvel Rivals, the higher your FPS… the higher your ping! If you're playing with relatively low ping, this increase might not be as noticeable. But if your standard ping is, say, 90 ms, a jump to 150 ms can seriously disrupt gameplay.

This issue also appears to be tied to frame rate. So, what can players do about it? For now, the best approach is to wait for a patch and experiment with finding an optimal balance between ping and FPS. Some players suggest keeping FPS around 90 for now. Counter-Strike 2 players might find this laughable, but this is the reality for Marvel Rivals at the moment.

No matter how impressive the start of Marvel Rivals has been, frame rate bugs of this nature are critical errors that need swift resolution.
