Joe Ziegler, representing the development team, stated that the game has already managed to pique the interest of potential buyers—largely due to the strong concept the studio has showcased:
We aimed to make the project compelling enough for players to want to support us from the very start. We’re confident the current version already looks convincing. At the same time, we have no plans to raise the price with the release of new seasons.
The developers emphasized that Marathon is a long-term initiative, and after launch, the game will receive regular updates and expansions without changing its initial cost. The studio intends not only to deliver a high-quality product but also to consistently develop it, avoiding aggressive monetization tactics.
Ziegler also noted that everyone has their own perception of a fair price, but Bungie aims to strike the right balance so the game feels worth the players' investment.
The exact price of Marathon has yet to be revealed—it will only be announced this summer. However, rumors are circulating online about a possible price tag of $40.
