The developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator shared information about their game's audience on social media, detailing the growth since its release in August 2020. As of June 23, the flight simulator, available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, has been tried by over 15 million people, collectively logging at least one billion flights. It's worth noting that the title is also available in the Game Pass library.

Microsoft Flight Simulator has generally received high ratings, with a score of 91 out of 100 on Metacritic from critics and 79% positive reviews from Steam users. The next installment in the series is set to be released on November 19. Its development is being handled by the French studio Asobo, also known for the A Plague Tale action-adventure series.
