Following the events of Dying Light: The Following, the fate of Kyle Crane remained one of the biggest mysteries for fans. Now, with the release of The Beast, players will finally get the long-awaited answers. As Tymon Smektała, the franchise director, notes, this is not just the conclusion of Crane's story but also a key element that will connect the events of Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
Parkour has always been one of the hallmarks of the series, but the shift to a rural setting posed new challenges for the developers. The team had to rethink movement, incorporating various industrial structures and natural elements like trees and cliffs. As a result, a dynamic and setting-adapted mechanic has emerged, preserving the spirit of the franchise.
While Stay Human focused more on action, The Beast will bring back the feeling of constant threat and resource scarcity. Ammunition will be limited, and enemies will become even deadlier, especially in the darkness of the night forest. Running away will once again be the best option.
Dying Light: The Beast promises to be a significant chapter for fans of the franchise. The game will answer lingering questions, finally conclude Crane's story, and lay the groundwork for the future of the series. The release is scheduled for summer 2025.
