The new video revealing the backstory of the apocalyptic events in Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones showcases key gameplay elements. Players can see fragments of the combat system featuring melee attack blocking, firearm mechanics with realistic recoil (especially noticeable at early levels), as well as lockpicking and item crafting systems. Special attention is given to the sanity system - the longer the character faces horrors, the more their perception of reality becomes distorted, affecting the interface and available actions.

The company announced an open beta test running from April 4 to 7, 2025 exclusively on PC. Participants will gain access to an extended demo version including exploration of the gloomy settlement of Kingsport and the mysterious Brasko family estate where the game's main events unfold. The test will feature a unique "Memories" system - fragments of the past that reveal dark secrets of the city and its inhabitants when collected.

Stygian: Outer Gods presents a unique blend of survival horror and Lovecraftian terror. Players will immerse themselves in an atmosphere of constant psychological tension while uncovering ancient mysteries and confronting threats from the Outer Gods. The protagonist is Victoria, an occult scholar searching for her missing father in a once-prosperous port city that has become a breeding ground for unspeakable horrors. Her research of ancient texts and artifacts may both aid in the struggle and accelerate the descent into madness.

The official Early Access release on PC is scheduled for April 14, 2025. The full version for PS5 and Xbox Series will launch within the following year. Developers promise regular updates adding new locations, side quests and branching story developments based on players' moral choices.
