Studio Reburn (founded by former 4A Games developers) has commented on the situation with their shooter, whose release failed to materialize last week. As it turns out, the developers encountered unforeseen technical difficulties, forcing them to postpone the launch. Initially, the team hoped to quickly resolve the issues, but reality proved more complicated than expected.
Originally, La Quimera was envisioned as a large-scale, complete adventure. However, as is often the case with indie developers, the creators had to scale back their ambitions. Now, the project will launch in a scaled-down version via Early Access—once the technical problems are resolved. As the developers note, even in this state, the game will offer a "polished and content-rich first act", playable both solo and in co-op mode. At the same time, Reburn openly admits that the current version is still far from their "original vision".
The studio's plans include gradually adding new missions, mechanics, story content, and interface improvements—a standard path for Early Access projects. The team also emphasizes long-term plans for the game's development and thanks the community for their patience.
That said, it remains unclear what exactly the developers were thinking when they announced a specific release date earlier this month for a game that, as it turns out, consists of just a few missions lasting a couple of hours.
