At the end of January, The Pokémon Company announced that they would investigate potential plagiarism in the game Palworld, which had one of the best starts of the year. The game is currently available in early access.

In a new interview, the game's creator and head of Pocketpair, Takuro Mizobe, mentioned that his team has not received any claims from The Pokémon Company or Nintendo.

Both companies have not commented on the situation in recent months, and it is possible that their internal investigation showed no evidence of plagiarism in the game. The developers of Palworld have stated that they were more inspired by Ark: Survival Evolved than Pokémon.

In the same interview, Mizobe recalled that he began his career as a developer at Nintendo. In 2010, he underwent a one-year training program there.

According to Mizobe, at Nintendo, he was taught to create new games and come up with unique development methods. However, he eventually realized that constantly coming up with fresh ideas is quite challenging. Therefore, he prefers to be inspired by existing concepts, adapting them to his own style.

Pocketpair continues to work on Palworld, and on June 27, the game will receive its first major update. This update will introduce a new island, pals, a boss, and other new features to the survival game.
