The early access launch of Path of Exile 2 was initially planned on November 15, but developers at Grinding Gear Games made an announcement that they have to move it to December 6, making it a three week delay.

Game Director Jonathan Rogers shared some insights: the team needed a bit more time to improve server infrastructure. According to him, Path of Exile 2 itself is ready for launch on initial date, but since the developers committed to transferring microtransaction data from the first game, the real issue lies within handling all of that data and possible bugs and errors.

Rogers mentioned that they didn’t anticipate the process would take this much time, but they would rather delay the launch than deal with numerous player issues afterward. The developers aim to avoid any issues where players might lose access to purchased items due to technical oversights.

Previously, a 23-minute gameplay video of Path of Exile 2 appeared online, showcasing the game. The first installment of the series has been a highly successful action RPG, successfully challenging the main genre series, Diablo.
