Now in its tenth year, Rainbow Six Siege is entering a new era. During today’s presentation, Ubisoft introduced Siege X, which is essentially to Siege what CS2 was to CS:GO.
Siege X is set to launch on June 10, and with its release, the game will become free-to-play for all players.
Key Changes in Siege X:
- New Mode: Dual Front – A 6v6 match format that merges attack and defense operators. The goal is to capture enemy zones and plant sabotage devices. The map is divided into multiple areas—three per team and one large neutral zone. Players respawn 30 seconds after death.
- Advanced Rappel System – Players can now use ropes both vertically and horizontally.
- Increased Environmental Destruction – The trailer showcased new destructible elements, including fire extinguishers and gas pipes that can be blown up.
- Reworks for Five Popular Maps. They are getting major updates.
- Graphical & Audio Enhancements – Ubisoft is rolling out a massive visual and sound upgrade.
- Improved Anti-Cheat & Toxicity Measures – Developers are focusing on refining the anti-cheat system and tackling toxic behavior in the community.
Ubisoft has also announced a closed beta during the next seven days, accessible to players who watch Siege streams.
