Half-Life 2, the legendary shooter from Valve, first released in 2004, is still considered one of the most influential games in history. Nearly two decades later, fans and modders continue to revisit this iconic title, reimagining it with modern technology.

HL2 RTX is a graphically enhanced version that promises to bring the classic into the era of modern tech. The project is being developed by the modding team Orbifold Studios, who are utilizing ray tracing, improved textures, and cutting-edge NVIDIA technologies such as DLSS 4 and RTX Volumetrics.

The visual changes are impressive: textures are now 8 times more detailed, and objects like Gordon Freeman's suit have 20 times more geometric detail. Lighting, reflections, and shadows now look incredibly realistic, adding new depth to the game.

The demo, set to release on March 18, will allow players to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Ravenholm and Nova Prospekt, showcasing how modern technology transforms familiar locations. Half-Life 2 RTX is not just a remake, but a tribute to the game that changed the industry.
