Riot Games was present at this year’s DICE Summit. After the main event, company co-founder Marc Merrill spoke with Stephen Totilo and discussed his hopes for the near future. One of his biggest goals is to release an MMO set in the League of Legends and Arcane universe.
Merrill admitted that the MMO project takes up most of his time. He loves the genre and believes that his dedication to it is one of the reasons the game could be successful. Another key factor is the desire of League of Legends fans to immerse themselves in their favorite universe as deeply as possible.
Unfortunately, he didn’t share any specific details about the MMO, including a potential release window. He only joked that he hopes it will launch before the first human lands on Mars. Whether that prediction holds up remains to be seen.
It’s worth noting that at least one other game set in the League of Legends universe is in development—2XKO, a fighting game that fans have been waiting for for years. Fortunately, this project already has trailers and a release window: it’s expected to launch before the end of the year.
