Riot Games just dropped fresh details about Season 2 of League of Legends in 2025. The update kicks off with a new Ionian-inspired look for Summoner’s Rift, themed around the “Festival of Bloom.” Atahkan will now only appear in his Thorned form, and spawn times for Void Grubs and the Rift Herald are changing—Grubs will show up later, while the Herald spawns earlier at 15 minutes.

One big gameplay tweak: you can now swap roles in champ select, not just pick order. If you switch to jungle, you’ll get Smite automatically (limited to one per team), and if you go support, the game gives you World Atlas from the start. Riot also adjusted penalties for role swapping—now, only support players can be penalized. The death screen’s getting an update too: less grey, and it lets you switch between teammate cams right away.

A new champion, Yunara, is also coming. Fans thought she’d be a support based on her theme, but turns out she’s a botlane carry. Riot hasn’t shared her abilities yet, but leaks suggest her gameplay will be similar to Senna’s, possibly with team stealth or invisibility.

Also on the way is a new 5v5 mode called Brawl. No towers, no structures—just fast PvP where you push minions into the enemy base to deal damage. It’s meant to be a chill, quick alternative to ARAM.

All these updates go live with patch 25.10 on April 30.
