Riot Games dropped a new cinematic that wraps up the first ranked season of 2025 in League of Legends. The video, made with the help of Fortiche (the studio behind Arcane), is up on the game’s YouTube channel.

In the trailer, LeBlanc interrogates a prisoner named Atakhan about the darkin weapons. He reveals they’re hidden in Ionia, which hints that the story will soon shift focus to this region after the Noxus arc. Some insiders have already speculated that Ionia will be the next big theme, and it looks like the next champion might come from there, too. Riot will likely confirm all this in a dev blog soon, but there’s no word yet on when exactly.

The first ranked season wraps up on April 29, but don’t expect the usual rank reset this time around. It looks like the Ionia theme will kick off with patch 15.9, set to drop on April 30. So you have a couple more weeks to finish your battle passes and climb in Arena ladder as high as possible.
