Facepunch Studios has unleashed the Jungle update for Rust, adding a lush new biome and a range of immersive features that shake up early-game survival.

The jungle biome takes over a portion of the coastal tier 0 zone, giving new players a vivid environment to explore. This area is flatter than other regions, with dense vegetation and a high river concentration, offering a unique gameplay rhythm.

One of the standout mechanics is vine swinging — a Tarzan-inspired movement method. Players can now swing between trees, climb to higher ground, or even toss vines to teammates, introducing new ambush and escape strategies.

The update also adds:

  • Ruins hiding low-level loot
  • Dangerous wildlife including crocodiles, tigers, and snakes
  • New weapons like boomerangs and blowguns with varied projectiles
  • Mini-monuments that support PvP and contain military-grade loot

With no major POIs in this zone, these smaller structures help maintain tension and encourage exploration. The Jungle update breathes wild, tactical energy into Rust’s world.
