Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 officially supports three-player co-op in its campaign and standalone missions. However, fans now have the opportunity to fight alongside up to eleven other players thanks to a community-made mod developed by the Warhammer Workshop team. This ambitious project is currently available through their official Discord server.
Image: steamcommunity.comIn an interview with IGN, lead modder Tom shared that Saber Interactive provided unexpected support for the project, which accelerated the mod's development. He expressed surprise at how quickly a 12-player co-op experience became feasible, considering the original limitations.
At this stage, the mod is still in early testing. The game’s original balance is clearly not optimized for squads of 12 Space Marines, but the modding team is already working to adjust enemy behavior and mission scaling. Their goal is to implement full-scale raid-style content with powerful bosses similar to those in MMO games.
Meanwhile, Saber continues to support Space Marine 2 officially. A recent April update added a boss fight against the terrifying Tyranid Trigon and introduced private PvP lobbies for enhanced multiplayer customization.
