Steins;Gate, one of greatest visual novels and one of the greatest anime shows of all time, is getting a remake! During a special 15th anniversary celebration event, MAGES presented a teaser of a remake.

The character designer of the original, huke, will provide the update design. Judging by the trailer, the most notable changes were applied to Shiina Mayuri. However, a simple update and release for modern consoles is simply not enough. In 2018, MAGES. already released Steins Gate Elite - an upgraded version of visual novel with animated scenes from the TV-series. Developers promised to bring additional story content, and there might be an explanation for this.

Steins Gate is a part of Science Adventure Series, which includes several visual novels interconnected in different ways. Fans speculate that the events of the Anonymous Code might influence the Steins Gate remake, Also, the mastermind behind the series, Chiyomaru Shikura, has mentioned that the previously announced sequel, codenamed Steins;???, is not the same project as ReBoot. So, it might be a convenient way to lead viewers into the next installment in the series.

Steins;Gate ReBoot is planned to launch 2025, and fans are definitely in for a treat. El Psy Kongroo!
